Seal Beach is a half-hour's drive away from Los Angeles, just south of the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. Calmer than many of the other beach communities surrounding L.A., visitors to Seal Beach spend time at the beach, go fishing, or check out the Seal Beach Wildlife Refuge and the El Dorado Nature Center. Movie nuts should catch a movie at the Bay Theater, which has stood untouched for nearly sixty years and screens current releases as well as classics.
